Popular Prunus (Cherry) 'Sylvia' has long been treasured for its excellent reliability, high yielding capabilities and wonderful flavour. This compact mini tree provides you with the same fantastic qualities, but grafted to a dwarf rootstock, making it suitable for growing in small gardens or patio containers - you can grow this tree on a patio or even a balcony! As well as a tasty crop of cherries in summer, you'll also get the enjoyment of pretty white blossom in the spring and attractive autumn foliage colour. Plant patio fruit trees in 60cm (2') diameter containers using a good quality compost such as John Innes No.3. Alternatively plant them in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny position. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level, firm them into the ground and water well. This miniature fruit tree requires minimal pruning. If desired, prune in the first spring after planting, select 3 or 4 well spaced branches on a clear trunk of at least 75cm (29"), and shorten them
