Between the 8th and 13th Centuries, the Chola dynasty was the dominant cultural, religious and political force in southern India. The most spectacular elements of the dynasty's artistic legacy are its bronze representations of Shiva and other Hindu gods. This lavishly illustrated book presents nearly 30 of these exquisite works. Expert authors explore how and why the figures came to be made and examine the role they played within Hinduism and Chola culture. Used Good. The edges are slightly worn, but have no significant damage. The covers have some scratches/markings. Aside from some minor staining on the top and bottom edges, the pages are clean and in very good condition.
