You will not find anything as luxurious in rosewood, such is the opulence of the Bath Series. These magnificent luxury chess pieces are breathtaking to hold and stunning to see. There is nothing quite like them. Hand-turned coils sit at the necks of every ornament apart from the knights, which have delicately carved, sweeping manes. You will also notice the elongated mouths that help to form a curved knight that is as impressive in its silhouette as when scrutinized under the bright lights. The bishop has a similarly distinctive form, with the recognisable Staunton tulip shape separated by an unusually intricate cut. This open-faced style adds to the stoic elegance of these four royal wardens. Further out on the perimeter are a set of columned rooks that perhaps show the natural grain of rosewood better than any other chess piece in the Bath set. Veins of differing reds pour down the thick midriff of these castle pieces, bringing an aesthetic unpredictability to the most uniform, prescient soldier. Equally as composed, yet infinitely more regal, is the Bath series solid rosewood 4.25 inch king. Along with his paler adversary, the king is heavy but comfortable in the hand, with a wide base and powerful, urn-shaped top.
