Colofac IBS Irritable Bowel Syndrome Tablets are a well-known antispasmodic meaning they help the bowel to relax making movement of stools more normal. It contains the active ingredient Mebeverine Hydrochloride which is used for the management of irritable bowel syndrome. Colofac helps relieve the symptoms of IBS, which include abdominal pain and cramps, bowel spasm, diarrhoea and flatulence by relaxing the muscles in the gut. These come in a round, white, sugar coated tablet. Mebeverine works by calming muscle spasms in the gut. Many people find that their symptoms are worst after a meal. Thus, for ideal results, you should swallow one Colofac tablet whole with water 20 minutes before each meal. Warnings and Precautions Do not take if: You are under the age of 18 (if you are concerned someone under 18 is suffering from IBS contact your GP for medical advise).
