'Reports of Cases Heard And Decided In The Court For The Relief of Insolvent Debtors, By Henry Revell Reynolds, Esq. John Greathed Harris, Esq. Thomas Barton Bowen, Esq. And William John Law, Esq. From October, 1827, To June, 1829. By Robert Nathaniel Cresswell, Esq. Of The Inner Temple, Barrister At Law.' (London: Saunders And Benning (Successors To J. Butterworth And Son) (1830)) This 1830 hardcover book is in an acceptable condition. There is a small amount of writing in black ink at the top of the book's title page identifying the book as having once belonged to The Bristol Law Library (please see photograph). There are also some small check marks made in pencil on the Index of Cases. There are no other internal markings or annotations. The text pages of this book are for the most part clean. There are a number which are affected by some light foxing. The text is still perfectly legible on these pages. The page edges and ends have tanned with age. The pages continue to sit together well. At some point the front hinge has to have cracked. A large strip of linen has been pasted over the gap between the front pastedown and first blank endpaper to limit the damage. The adhesive has dried incredibly dark. It has been a successful, although not very discreet, repair (please see photograph). The front cover remains attached. The back cover, however, is completely detached. It has separated really rather neatly though and would be easy to repair should one wish (please see photograph). The book is half calf with beautiful navy blue marbled boards. There is rubbing around almost all edges and at the corners the boards are exposed. The rubbing over the face of the spine is such that no information remains. The leather is also loose and chipped at both ends. This is a used book in an acceptable condition. It has seen almost two centuries of use and is showing noticeable wear externally.
