Daktarin Aktiv contains the active ingredient Ketoconazole which works by killing the fungi and bacteria which cause the infection in the first place. It kills the fungi by targeting the fungal cells and making holes in their membranes causing them to die. This prevents further spread of the infection and heals the treated areas. What is an Athletes's foot? An athlete’s foot is a fungal skin infection. This happens when the natural fungi on your skin are allowed to multiply and cause infection. This usually happens if you have feet that sweat a lot and wear tight-fitting shoes.
