Day for Night (Released in France as 'La Nuit americaine') is a 1973 French romantic comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Francois Truffaut. It stars Jacqueline Bisset, Valentina Cortese, Jean-Pierre Aumont, Dani, Alexandra Stewart, Jean-Pierre Leaud and Truffaut himself. The film explores the trials of film production, and the personal and professional challenges of cast and crew. The film chronicles the troubled production of Je Vous Presente Pamela (Meet Pamela, or literally I Introduce You to Pamela), a cliched melodrama starring aging screen icon Alexandre, former Italian diva Severine, young heartthrob Alphonse and British actress Julie Baker, who is recovering from both a nervous breakdown and the controversy over her marriage to her much older doctor. Please note this is a region 1 DVD (US import). Language: French and English, with English subtitles. Total Run Time: 116 mins. Release Date: 2003. Condition: Good, a number of minor scratches on disc.
