Short preface and 12 chapters. 152pp. The author is better known as louis Leakey ( 1903-1972), the celebrated paleaonthologist. But as a citizen of Kenya he was much concerned and involved with the Mau-Mau rebellions of the early fifties. Though having sympathy for the Kikuyu, he supported the Governments efforts to retain law and order. This extended essay takes the line that to defeat the Mau-Mau you need to understand them. Most of the book is therefore descriptive of their background and organisations and therefore of particular interest to historians. This copy PS9.99
