Deutschsprachiges Entomologiebuch. Hervorragende Seiten, leichte Kanten- und Einbandabnutzung. With a wingspan of 6 to 7 cm, the demoiselles are our largest domestic damselflies. The males of the banded demoiselle are unmistakable with their wide, black-blue iridescent band in their wings. The demoiselles live on slow-flowing streams and rivers that have sandy bottoms and sunny banks. A focus of the volume is the flight of the demoiselles. The focus is on activity distribution and energetics. Another main chapter describes reproduction and the behaviours associated with it. This is followed by the phylogeny and individual development, whereby the dragonflies' life path from egg to sexually mature animal (imago) is traced. The distribution of demoiselles as well as the population trend of larvae and adults and the associated influence of predators and other environmental factors form further chapters. Finally, questions about endangerment and nature conservation are addressed. German language Entomology book. Excellent pages, a little edge and cover wear.
