Since its establishment in 1959, this distillery has been a true maverick, boasting not one, not two, but three distinct distillation processes that come together to create unrivaled Rums that are in a league of their own. They're also the pioneers of sustainability, trailblazing eco-friendly practices at every stage of their Rum-making escapades. Diplomatico's DNA is infused with profound family values and an unwavering commitment to excellence. They leave no stone unturned, meticulously overseeing every aspect of production, from field to bottle. Forget what they say about Rum having no laws. Turns out, Venezuelans take their Rum regulations seriously, making sure the producers age their Spirit for two years before it sees the light of day. Diplomatico takes this commandment and turns it up a notch, aging the distillate for six years in ex-Bourbon casks--that's the dedication you don't often find in the realm of white Rums. Their Planas Rum starts out with fermented, top-grade sugar cane molasses and sugar cane honey, making sure they've got the good stuff right from the get-go. Then they distill it in a combination of column, pot, and batch kettle stills and charcoal-filter it up to six times to ensure the necessary color and richness of texture.
