See, there is a God.In a vain attempt not to state the obvious, Disney Coaster is a 3D rollercoaster simulator with an emphasis on design, construction and theming. The game itself is split into two distinct modes of play - Imagineering mode and Build mode.The premise of being an Imagineer places you in the role of a rollercoaster designer in which amusement park clients will seek you out and request designs that must meet a specific set of requirements. Some clients may ask for tame rollercoasters, while others will ask for hardcore white-knuckle rides. As you successfully complete each challenge, your reputation as a rollercoaster designer begins to grow.Build mode is a little more appealing, easing the constraints on the role of a coaster designer. Here, the world is your oyster and you are given complete freedom to build rides as tall, fast and extreme as you like. Good stuff.The game world itself, thanks to the latest in PC graphics technology, is stunning and the attention to detail is admirable.But it's the physics behind the game engine that bring everything together. Quite simply, if you break the laws of real-life physics, your coaster won't work in the virtual world. It's important for a game like this to have that sense of realism, and encourages players to be creative in their designs.Disney Coaster is a great game and although it may appeal mostly to those who make a regular pilgrimage to Alton Towers or Blackpool, it will be enjoyed by anyone who plays it.
