Merchant's Category: Media> Books
An attractive selection of the pencil drawings of a Victorian artist of buildings of antiquarian interest in nineteenth century Coventry with descriptive notes by Mary Dormer Harris. This volume published in Coventry Also published in London by B.T.Batsford. The front end paper has "Published by the direction of The Fullers Guild" and the name of C.L Gillitt Master 1967 - 1968 written in copperplate style, but the book itself looks older and other listings date its publication at around 1909. Dr Troughton died in 1867. Good condition. 1st edition. 106pp and 49 full page b/w illustrations. There is a protective tissue cover which is stained and has open tears but the tan board covers (quarter cloth) are in very good condition with only minor bumping at the corners. The binding is good. Some age discolouration of the block and some general age discolouration throughout the book, particularly the end papers and at the edges, but the text and illustrations are clear and look unmarked.
