This is number 22 of a limited edition of 60 copies . The full title is "Early Glasgow. A history of the city of Glasgow from the earliest times to the year 1611." It has black and white full page plates and a map of Glasgow showing the buildings around the cathedral in the 16th Century. It is firmly bound in red quarter leather and has red boards with red morocco leather on the spine. Gilt lettering on the spine and gilt Glasgow city badges on front and spine. Roughcut pages with gilt on the top edge of the textblock. Printed on hand-made paper with the plates, which have tissue guards, on Japanese vellum. Covers are corner-bumped. Scuff mark at the top of front cover. and scuffing on edges of spine. Slight crushing and edgewear to spine. Text clean and bright with only a very little foxing near some page edges and on free end papers.
