Eddie South in Paris (1992) The bulk of this highly enjoyable LP has the ten selections that violinist Eddie South recorded while in Paris during 1937. Guitarist Django Reinhardt is on all of the numbers (including some duets and trios), seven have violinist Stephane Grappelli (including two examples of J.S. Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor being turned into jazz), and on "Lady Be Good," Michel Warlop joins up on third violin. In addition, the album begins with the two songs that South had recorded during his initial visit to Paris in 1929. Before the Classics label came out with two CDs of all of Eddie South's early recordings, this had been the underrated violinist's definitive LP
