Edinburgh Review, Vol XII (April-July 1808); Vol XVII (Nov 1810-Feb 1811); Vol XVIII (May-Aug 1811) Edinburgh, Archibald Constable and Company. Hardback, 500+pp each volume. Condition Good. Bound in quarter leather over marbled boards, with wear and damage to boards and spines. One volume has a detached front board. Bindings all sound; pages rough cut. Internally some tanning and foxing, but text all clear and readable. The Edinburgh Review in this incarnation was published between 1802 and 1929, and became one of the most influential magazines of the nineteenth century. It began as a literary and political review and espoused romanticism and Whig politics. Its main rival was The Quarterly Review. These three volumes give a valuable insight into the broad spread of subjects covered.
