It seems hard to believe, considering what an iconic personality in the ski world that Glen Plake is, but this is the very first model he has ever put his name to and that should really tell you something about this ski. It's everything you would expect from such a skilled skier and mountain man. It has the power and stability to charge without ever losing manoeuvrability or having to add excess grams. This isn't just some paint job and marketing department makeover, Elan worked closely with Glen using their latest technologies and tweaking them to work with a shape that went through much testing to get to the final design. Carbon Bridge Technology ensures the ski is supremely stability without adding weight, the 360deg Sidewall provides precision and Amphibio delivers the right performance whether on hard or soft snow. Grab that old copy of Blizzard of Aahhh's and go find your inner Plake. Exclusive to Ellis Brigham in the UK. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type Glen Plakes's very first pro model is built exactly to do what he would want. Accessing harder to reach areas to ski whatever the terrain or conditions. It has the construction and shape to charge when the space allows it, plus the lightweight and nimbleness to deal with tight spots and technical routes. Skier Type Advanced and Expert skiers who want a light weight freeride ski for pairing up with light bindings to tackle long ascents and ski memorable descents. Overview Shape A relatively long radius (21.5m at 173cm) helps the Tour 104 feel stable even when things rough up. 104mm underfoot makes sure there is decent platform for when the snow is softer or choppy. Small amounts of tip and tail taper help with smoothness in trickier conditions whilst ensuring a good amount of effective edge for grip. Rocker Ripsticks use Amphibio technology, a revolutionary ski design that integrates both rocker and camber profiles into dedicated left and right skis. These skis feature a cambered inside edge assuring precision, edge grip and stability, while a rockered outside edge provides forgiveness, turning ease and smooth transitions. Core The Tubelite Woodcore uses a super lightweight carbon tube inserted into a lightweight laminated wood core. The tube runs the length of the ski and provides torsional stability and powerful rebound while allowing for material reduction of the core. The result is incredible lightweight response and stability. Construction The 360o Sidewall saves weight and ensures good power transfer and precision. Carbon is used in the layup as it's lightweight, strong and provides additional support and reinforcement. Fibreglass reinforcement optimises the flex pattern and enhances torsional rigidity of the ski. Key Features Carbon Bridge Technology Next level stability. Carbon Bridge Technology is a revolutionary solution where a single carbon rod placed on the upper part of the ski provides stability, dampening and vibration absorption through the tip. Amphibio Profile Amphibio technology is a revolutionary ski design that integrates both rocker and camber profiles into dedicated left and right skis. Amphibio skis feature a cambered inside edge assuring precision, edge grip and stability - while a rockered outside edge provides forgiveness, turning ease and smooth transitions. 360deg Sidewall 360deg Sidewall is a unique and effective sidewall solution to maximise performance while keeping the weight low. Pyramidal shaped sidewall are positioned throughout the whole body of the ski, to increase vibration absorption and high-speed stability. Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.

After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.

Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
