The Elan Voyager is the world's first high-performance, folding all mountain ski. A convenient option that folds down to under 1m for easy storage and carriage; and a no compromise ski for demanding skiers. The key is Elan's revolutionary Connect Technology, a four axis system mechanism that bonds and seals the ski at the folding joint and integrates with a carbon reinforced plate that serves as a load bearing platform. Surprisingly simple to use and exceptionally strong it's unlike anything else on the mountain. It isn't just a high-tech piece of engineering, it's also an impressive performer on piste with design borrowed from race products and thanks to the 78mm waist and Amphibio rocker it is also very capable away from the groomers. Key Features Connect Folding Technology The secret of the Voyager is Elan's revolutionary Connect Technology(r) which uses a four-axis mechanism that bonds and seals the ski together at the folding joint. This combines with a carbon-reinforced fusion plate that serves as a load-bearing platform for support. The two components work together to provide rigidity to the ski for superior performance, but also allow the ski to fold into a compact, easy to transport package. The ski delivers a never-seen-before folding functionality, so part of design is in the role of intuitive folding ability. The fold/unfold is achieved by rotational moves to allow snow or ice to slide out of the way. The areas that are exposed to folding & rotation are designed with care for long-term usage, even after countless repetition. From folded position to unfolded position, it takes around 15-30 seconds to assemble both skis into skiing position. It is a very convenient and easy process. First, you unlock the safety mechanism, then unfold it, rotate the plate in any direction, and align it to the ski. To finish the process, lock the mechanisms in front and back of the plate and release the brake lock to secure the skiing mode. Every step of the process is marked on the ski itself to prevent errors. The reverse process is the same in time and steps. After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.
Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
