Being just a 10 minute walk from the main sea terminal from where ferries to and from the Isle of Man and the mainland sail means it's just a short stroll in the sea air to your afternoon tea rendez vous at the Empress.On arrival at the hotel you'll receive a very warm welcome from reception staff before being shown to your table. The Empress boasts an impressive 'orangerie' style conservatory that runs the full width of the building a cosy piano bar and in sunny weather tables and chairs out on the lawn overlooking the beach so there's plenty of choice for where to indulge in your afternoon appointment with a whole lot of cakes and treats.Of course people watching as the seagulls swoop overhead in the warm air and the sun glistens on the open waters is a lovely time to take tea but the Empress Hotel is open all year round and it's always nice and cosy in the conservatory so just imagine tucking into your delicious warm scones as the rain lashes on the windows and the waves crash - just as enticing in its own way!And it's worth mentioning that this afternoon tea offering features something a little different. As well as all the usual fare there's also a sumptuously indulgent little chocolate fondue included too! Get dipping in that melted choc with your marshmallows and fresh fruity bits on sticks. Utter bliss. Oh and if you go for the Sparkling version you will also be served a glass of Champagne too.
