Written in German. This is an exhibition catalogue of works by Ewald Matare, which ran from June to July in Dusseldorf at the Stadtische Kunsthalle. His work focused mostly on man and animal in stylised forms. This book includes chapters analysing Matare's style and work over the years as well as chapters written by Matare himself before he died, looking into his personal diary entries and writings to another German artist, Gerhard Marcks. The book also includes artwork by Matare, ranging from sculpture to hand drawings. This book is in great condition. Slight shelf wear, sound binding. Creasing on the spine.
