Exploring The Norfolk Market Town
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
Exploring the Norfolk market town takes a selection of towns across the county, from Downham Market in the west to Loddon in the east, Holt in the north to Harleston in the south. It endeavours to explain some of the ways in which we can understand the development of Norfolk's towns. Whilst it focuses on particular settlements, each one represents a different area of the county and other towns will share common features with at least one of those featured in the book. The use of current and historical maps, the investigation of documents in local libraries or the Record Office, the techniques of field walking or of more formal archaeological digging, are all represented in these pages. Everyone with the slightest interest in developing their understanding of their community, its history and its geography, will find this book the very best of starting places. Condition: As new - The cover is clean and has no visible wear, the spine has no creases and looks in good condition and the inside pages are all clean and unmarked. The book looks like its had little to no previous use.
