Extensional Tectonics And Stratigraphy Of The North Atlantic Margins
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
A detailed study of the North Atlantic basin, which evolved over a hundred million years. The contents can be classified in four groups: (1) An introductory suite of chapters presenting some of the essential ingredients - the nature of the geophysical/geological record, detachment models and the structural consequences of extension. (2) A North Atlantic overview including tectono-stratigraphic, geophysical , and igneous perspectives. (3) A detailed account of the evolution of the basins that surround the North Atlantic. (4) A few chapters extending our horizons beyond the North Atlantic to include extensional basins in Argentina and Brazil. The book is copiously illustrated with maps, charts and drawings, and has a dedication by one of the authors on the f.e.p. The edges of the d.j. show very slight signs of shelf-wear. The book is otherwise in excellent condition, with no markings.
