The Faction Prodigy 3 is an every-day ski of choice for progressive skiers, using it in all terrain from park, to street, to backcountry and spring-time shredding. The Elliptical Sidecut uses a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski, the long radius underfoot means you can pivot easily while the shorter radius results in simpler turn initiation. The Moustache Flex ensures stability in front and behind the binding with a smooth, progressive flex in the tip and tail. XL 2.5 Edges add durability and Full Strength Sidewalls increase edge hold and stability as well as protection from damage. The poplar core flexes nicely as well as having heaps of vibration absorption, allowing the ski to pop, butter and stomp like an all-mountain freestyle ski and also have enough torsional stability to grip impressively. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type It's focused on softer snow but it is capable anywhere if you have a freestyle mindset. The width and rocker ensure the float and control for when powder is in town, the construction provides the stability for rougher snow and grip on hard pack. Skier Type Advanced and expert freeskiers who want a fun but stable ski for using the whole mountain as a playground. The flex allows the ski to blast through crud and stomp landings, without sacrificing the ability to butter and smear. Overview Shape It's a directional twin with a tail quite a bit narrower than the tip to provide ultimate downhill performance for attacking the mountain. A twin tip in the tail encourages playfulness and freestyle attitude, meaning you can ride switch without problem. 106mm in the waist is going to feel great in a variety of conditions, with the 20m radius (184cm) keeping things stable whatever the terrain. Rocker Tip and Tail Rocker uses traditional camber underfoot for response and good edge grip, with rocker at the tip and tail to improve manoeuvrability by aiding turn initiation and completion. Core Poplar is a light-colored, medium-weight, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having a whole load of vibration absorption capabilities. Used as the only wood in this core, it allows the ski to pop, butter and stomp and also have enough torsional stability to grip impressively on the downhill. Construction Full Strength Sidewalls uses a construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the wood core, edges and topsheet from impact and outside damage. Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of a premium, sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski's topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping. Then, Faction transition to smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails to easily absorb all the different bumps and snow debris on the mountain. This flex allows for an easier turn initiation and finish. XL 2.5mm Edges 7 fractions of a millimetre might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The 2.5mm edges stack an extra 35% of height on top of Faction's already super-durable standard 1.8mm edges. This extra steel gives the rider a pair of skis that are going to take more abuse and last longer. Sustainability RECYCLED MATERIALS, working with production partners to eliminate material waste, they now mix base, sidewall and topsheet material scraps back into the raw material used for production, reducing carbon emissions while ensuring the same level of quality & durability. LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS, in an effort to reduce the impact of their supply chain, Faction strive to source materials from European companies that are based near to their factories. 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY, this ski is produced in a cutting-edge facility that runs on electrical power that is 100% renewable. Additionally, its heating energy comes solely from biomass. The factory no longer uses oil, resulting in annual CO2 emissions reductions of a whopping 10 million kilograms. EB tester's comments: Super mellow handling that's perfect for jibbing, playing and having fun! They've also got a nice easy turning feel and the flex is perfect for buttering off bumps and jumps. If I was going on a season, this ski would definitely be on my hitlist to consider because I know everyday would be a fun day on the hill. After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.
Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
