Four Vintage Thomas the tank engine books from 1948 to 1970 Although the books vary in condition from poor to good ( see pics ) these books would be still of great interest to Thomas collectors, vintage book fans and of course children the beautiful colour illustrations alone are a delight. Gordon The Big Engine 1970 no 8 in the series this book is a reprint of the first edition released in 1953. This book is in good condition no dust jacket, the boards and pages are all clean no markings the spine is sound and pages secure .This is a delightful book and as all the Thomas books the illustrations are beautiful Branch Line Engines 1968 no 16 in the series this book is a reprint of the first edition that was released in 1961. The book is in fair condition no dust jacket all pages are present and clean no markings except for a name and ink mark on the fly sheets All the pages are bound together but starting to come away from the spine. This book is still very much readable and the illustrations are wonderful Thomas The Tank Engine no 2 in the series 1951 tenth impression of this book first released in 1946 in poor condition no dust jacket. Original boards all pages are present and show signs of light foxing ,the pages are hanging on to the spine by a thread Although the book is in sorry state it would be still of great interest to Thomas collectors and vintage book fans the beautiful colour illustrations alone are a delight. James The Red Engine no 3 in the series 1948 first edition in poor condition no dust jacket. This book has no back board ,the flysheet and title page are missing the front board has come away from the pages and has scribbling on the inside with a message to Sophie it was an xmas present 1949. All the pages are all still bound together and clean no markings as are the beautiful illustrations. Although the book is in a sorry state it would be still of great interest to Thomas collectors and vintage book fans the beautiful colour illustrations alone are a wonderful.
