The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor measures and stores interstitial fluid glucose levels, with options alarms. It represents technology that is different to traditional blood glucose monitoring and makes glucose testing hassle-free.* Features: Small size (35 mm diameter x 5 mm height) akin to 2 coin Discreet; the sensor can scan even through clothing Designed to stay on the back of upper arm for up to 14 days Requires no finger prick calibration Optional alarms - high glucose, low glucose and signal loss alarm Water-resistant - Can be worn while bathing, showering, swimming, and exercising Applied by the patient - Easy-to-use applicator to apply the sensor Automatically captures readings day and night - With an easy scan, patients can see their glucose variations, including night-time lows The reader can capture the data from the sensor when it is within 1cm to 4cm from sensor. Finger pricks are required if glucose readings and alarms do not match symptoms or expectations. Sensor is water-resistant in up to 1 metre of water. Do not immerse longer than 30 minutes. For a complete glycaemic picture, scan once every 8 hours. Patients choose which device they want to receive alarms: FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or FreeStyle LibreLink app. They must start their FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with that selected device. Once the patient scans their FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with that device, they can receive alarms only on that device. The FreeStyle LibreLink app is only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems.
