Part of the Fretz Silversmithing range Ideal for smoothing metal Features a round and flat head For Heavier force striking 420 grade stainless steel and Padauk wood This Fretz Silversmithing Large Planishing Hammer is part of the Fretz Silversmithing range of hammers that have been specifically designed for heavier force striking when making hollowware and larger metal items. This Fretz Silversmithing Large Hammer features one highly polished 22mm diameter shallow dome face and one highly polished 22mm diameter round flat face making it an ideal all purpose hammer for hardening and smoothing metal. Built for toughness and durability, this Planishing Hammer is a scaled up version of the Fretz Jewellers Planishing Hammer (999 7423). It provides a much heavier tool, perfect for use with thicker metal gauges. The hammer head is made from 420 graded stainless steel and is secured onto a beautifully crafted handle made from oiled Padauk wood, which has been designed to flex during hammering for increased comfort and reduced strain.
