Gauguin, Bonnard, Denis: A Russian Taste For French Art
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
They called themselves the Nabis, after the Hebrew word for 'prophet'. Their shining example was Paul Gauguin (1848-1903), and two pioneering members were Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947) and Maurice Denis (1870-1943). The Impressionists were mainly interested in capturing the fleeting natural light, whereas the Nabis emphasised colour and composition. As new. Spine is intact. Pages are clean and bright. Very minor marks of previous ownership.
