They are supplied open, meaning that the jump ring attached to one side of the bolt ring is not soldered and is ready to attach to another jump ring or a chain. Gold filled jewellery is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal - usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight. Therefore it makes a great alternative to gold plating, which is thinner and less durable. Unlike gold plated metal, gold filled can be soldered using 9ct or 14ct gold easy solder. Measures 6mm. Supplied in a pack of 5.
