Welcome to our light & ethereal 'Gossamer' collection. This collection is inspired by delicate, woodland forms, the half light of dawn & dusk, & continues our themes of botanical sprigs & ancient classical mythology. 'Fern' represents perhaps the most mystical plant family, predating animal life by many millions of years, & having changed very little since the mid Jurassic period. Their feather like fronds have long been associated with fantastic, other worldly life & landscapes, liminal spaces & moments of magic. Their place of ferns in mythology is worldwide. To the Maori people of New Zealand the fern represents strength & enduring power, & the silver fern is the national symbol of New Zealand. This golden version of this beautiful botanical style is cut from solid brass, & textured on a series of anvils. Our oldest anvil is around 150 years old, & its still going very strong! The resulting surface is unique, catching the light & creating an elegant, artisan look. Individual earring weight 0.98g Length 52mm x width 15mm These are mounted onto gold plated wires. Earrings & ear wires can be easily replaced should you lose one, so do get in touch if you need anything, or if you prefer a different hook or metal type. All our postage & materials are plastic free. Our business is run by a group of women in rural Cornwall, & we absolutely love what we do.
