This is a fascinating piece of history with the full title 'Grand Architectural Panorama of London: Regent Street to Westminster Abbey. From Original Drawings Made Expressly for the Work by R. Sandeman, Architect, and Executed on Wood by G. C. Leighton'. This is a 1966 reproduction of the 1849 original. Contained within is a booklet that folds out into a long vista of nineteenth century London. All images are labelled with the location and there are plenty of world-renowned London landmarks such as Westminster Abbey, Downing Street, and Oxford Street. It also provides images of businesses of the day such as 'H. Tatham, Gun Maker and Sword Cutter', 'W Knight, Oyster and Chop House', and 'John Harborow & Co., Glove Makers to The Queen'. Alongside the architectural images, there are illustrations of people in Victorian dress, some dogs, horses and carts, and the Royal Guardsmen on horseback. It is a lovely piece that demonstrates Victorian London and its architecture in all its glory. Slight foxing to slipcase and booklet. Light creasing. Otherwise, all in remarkable condition.
