The Head Real Joy is the ultimate companion for skiers who value ease of use and a lighter, more nimble feeling on the slopes. With its easy piste handling and excellent confidence-building abilities, this innovation-packed ski is the perfect tool to progress your technique. Slightly narrower than its sister, the Absolut Joy, the Real Joy remains piste-focused while maintaining its easy-to-use nature. Loved by intermediates to lighter advanced skiers, its surprisingly wide performance bracket ensures that it caters to a range of skill levels. Experience unrivalled balance and effortless turns with its EMC dampening and Graphene layer delivering enhanced performance and seamless control. Whether you're cruising down blue or red runs, skiing at various speeds, or seeking stability on less-than-perfect groomed trails, the Real Joy has got you covered. Get ready to conquer the hill with total confidence. Terrain Type & Ability Level Terrain Type Piste all the way, any colour, though the steepest, firmest black runs aren't going to be skied at full speed. Skier Type Dedicated piste skiers, from intermediate to lighter, advanced level. The ski has an easy energy and carves clean turns but doesn't feel like they are locked-in, making it comfortable to allow some skid at the start or end of the turn if the terrain is trickier. Overview Shape This year sees an updated to the Real Joy's shape using a slightly wider waist (up from 73 to 75mm) and a longer radius at 12.2m (158cm), it represents a move towards more stability to better deal with more varaible terrain, but sticking to its super turney feel and nippy piste handling that they've been well known for in the past. Rocker Allride Rocker uses tip rocker and camber underfoot; perfect for skiers who feel comfortable on any slopes. The rocker enables superior steering and increases floatation. The camber ensures grip and precision on hard snow. Core A vertically laminated wood core has a composite sock around it. This combination results in good vibration control, no excess weight and a smooth ride that suits ambitious skiers who don't want all out power. Construction Power Sidewall Jacket Construction is a mouthful, but it gives a lot of clues to what it does and how it s made. A cap construction enhances durability and sits on top of ABS Sidewalls which provide precise energy transmission. As well as the wood composite core, a layer of Graphene is used to keep the ski light but also increase the strength. Key Features Graphene Graphene is the thinnest and lightest element ever discovered by mankind. It is also the strongest material on the planet, stronger than diamond and 300 times stronger than steel, all in the thickness of one atom. By using it in the construction Head can reduce weight and increase strength of the ski. LYT Tech Construction By developing a ski range with lightweight Karuba wood and Graphene fully embedded Head were able to increase performance while making it lighter. A unique weight distribution makes tip and tail thicker and the middle section thinner. The V-shape gives effortless control for better steering, more stability and control. EMC F Energy Management Circuit Front, the world's only electronic ski dampening system. When the ski bends and vibrates, it takes the kinetic energy in the ski and transfers it into electrical energy, which is then used to absorb negative vibrations for a more stable experience. Smooth skiing and exceptional edge grip, whatever the conditions. EB tester's comments: Laz (Milton Keynes) Great ski to progress with, steady and reliable. A bit stiffer and held its own better at higher speeds than I expected. Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.

After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.

Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
