Despite initial challenges, Wilder's revised version, titled The Matchmaker, became a Broadway sensation. The musical, crafted by Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart, underwent title changes before settling on Hello, Dolly! During its original Broadway run, it achieved remarkable success, running for 2,844 performances and securing a then record-breaking 10 Tony Awards. The timeless score by Herman and Stewart includes classics like “Hello, Dolly!”, “It Only Takes a Moment,” “Elegance,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” “Ribbons Down My Back,” and “Put On Your Sunday Clothes.”
