History of the Conquest of Mexico: with a Preliminary View of The Ancient Mexican Civilisation and the Life of the Conqueror Hernando Cortes, Vol. III. by William H. Prescott This book, the third volume in Prescott's Mexico, details the siege and surrender of Mexico and the subsequent career of Cortes. Included in this history is the sack of Iztapalapan, the expedition of Sandoval, battles at Xochimilco, the capture of Guatemozin, and more. Prescott's History of the Conquest of Mexico was first published in 1843, this edition was published presumably toward the end of the nineteenth century. The cover shows some rubbing wear and marks to the front. The corners are bumped. There is an inscription from a previous owner on the front free endpaper dated 1898, and a stamp of the free endpaper at the back of the book. The pages are in otherwise good condition, with some discolouration from age. The title on the front cover is gilt.
