During the spring, the Hot Wheels Collectors Nationals are held in a variety of places that are located outside of California. In addition, since 1986, Strauss has been the publisher of the quarterly Hot Wheels Newsletter. He was also one of the first people to bring together collectors from all around the globe. In addition, he is the author of "Tomart's Price Guide To Hot Wheels," a book that provides a history of the pastime as well as descriptions and prices of individual cars. This book is used by practically every collector as a resource for learning more about the hobby and their own collections.
