This rare, antiquarian, Second Printed Edition, architecture and DIY book, entitled "How to Restore the Old Aussie House" is written by Ian Stapleton. The idea for this book came partly from an exhibition and partly as a reaction. The exhibition was Maisy Stapleton's House that Jack Built Christmas exhibition at Sydney's Elizabeth Bay House in 1979, which was a celebration of 19th century building. The reaction was from being told once too often that old houses are inferior to what can be built today.. Much of the information in this book has been published as articles in the Sydney Morning Herald but is here revised and augmented to provide a practical guide to the owner-restorer. Published in 1984 by John Fairfax Marketing, this Second Printing Edition, paperback book is in very good condition overall, with the pages being in very good condition, with some stains on the edges, and very minor wear on the paperback cover of the book.
