Hungarian Paprika Through The Ages
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
No matter where in the world paprika is mentioned, this pungent, slightly biting spice creates an exotic picture of Hungary. What is it that makes this spice a symbol of exotic hunger? This is the question the author tries to answer by describing the adventurous journey that brought paprika to Europe and made it find a convivial home in Hungary, after it left America and Asia in the 16th century. Hardcover in unpriced dust jacket. The jacket is a little wrinkled and worn at extremities, and has two small tape repairs on the reverse side. Further, the spine has browned slightly. A few numbers have been written on the front endpaper, and a few pages have some underlining in ink, the book is otherwise very good. The jacket is now in a removable protective cover. 176 pages, including bibliography. Size 20.3 x 13.5 x 1.8 cm. With in-text colour illustrations.
