Illustrated London News: Christmas 1915 And November 20 1915
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
Two copies of The Illustrated London News from 1915. The Christmas Number, plus the November 20th issue. The Christmas issue has grubby covers as visible in the photos, with parts of the spine worn through and the staples rusted but still present. This issue appears to have been printed on off-white paper with the illustrations mainly in sepia and some in cyan. The illustrated pages have some wear at the edges with signs of moisture at the edges towards the front of the issue. This issue contains the first publication of the John Buchan story "The King of Ypres" with the text and illustrations still crisp. The November 20th issue is missing pages 661-2 and 671-2, with general wear throughout and the spine worn through in places. The top staple is intact but rusted while the bottom staple has gone. Otherwise in similar condition to the Christmas issue.
