Inuk by Roger P. Buliard. Macmillan & Co. Ltd. 1953. The record of his experiences which Father Buliard here gives under the title of Inuk - the word means " I am the Man" and expresses the Eskimo's supreme confidence in himself - is undoubtedly one of the most attractive and informative accounts of life in this part of the world ever published, though the standard has always been a high one. As a travel book it is full of adventures, arduous journeys by dog- team, and narrow escaped from death on the treacherous ice or in sudden Arctic storms. Inuk was originally written in French, but the English translation has been carefully supervised by the author. Book in fair condition. Dust jacket severely damaged. Spine has shelf-wear. Pages sunned.
