An attractive, yet simple pendant design. It is made from three shiny, circular silver plated brass rings. The inner circle is set with a Natural Garnet gemstone cabochon. Garnet is the traditionally recognised birthstone for the month of January. Garnets are a group of silicate minerals, used since the Bronze Age as gemstones & abrasives. All species of garnets possess similar physical properties & crystal forms, but differ in chemical composition. Garnet is a naturally deep red colour. DIMENSIONS The height of the pendant is 2.7cm (1 inch), including the top of the bail. The silver plated circles measure as follows; - The largest, outer circle has a diameter of 2.5cm (1 inch). The middle circle has a diameter of 1.6cm (5/8 inch). The inner circle has a diameter of 0.9 cm (3/8 inch). The garnet cabochon housed within is round, domed, polished & measures 0.8cm (5/16 inch) diameter. The outermost & middle circles are 0.7cm (9/32 inch) deep, giving a more three dimensional quality. The depth of the rings can be best appreciated in photograph 9. The pendant is hung on a superior silver plated, diamond cut curb chain, which fastens with a standard bolt ring clasp. The chain is 18 inches long (45cm) & 1.5mm (1/16 inch) wide. VARIATIONS The same pendant design is also available in many colours & stones.
