Jeremy Garcia: Nuevo Dia (Flamenco & Classical) (Albeniz, Tarrega & Garcia) Released by Frameworks Records 2023 - NEW CD in shrink wrap Jeremy Garcia is a classical and flamenco guitarist, award-winning composer, recording artist and educator. Jeremy holds degrees in Classical Guitar Performance from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and Southern Methodist University in Dallas. With extensive training in flamenco guitar and experience in accompanying cante and baile, Garcia collaborates with top flamenco artists of the genre. He recently won first prize in the flamenco category of the Septimo Concurso de Composicion para Guitarra Fidelio (2023) in Madrid, Spain. Garcia performs throughout the United States. He has collaborated with the Houston Grand Opera, accompanying Soprano Ana Maria Martinez and flamenco dancers in HGO's Suite Espanola (2021). His original work "Suite Andaluz" debuted with the Helena Symphony in Montana, where he also performed Joaquin Rodrigo's "El Concierto de Aranjuez" (2017). He has performed as soloist with the Brazosport Symphony and the Grace Symphony Orchestra. He has performed in numerous festivals as invited artist, has given Master Classes, workshops, and conducted guitar ensembles. His latest album, "Nuevo Dia," was released on Frameworks Records 2023. He has recorded two previous albums, Garcia y Reyna's Baile del Sol and Cafe Khytaro's Distancia. In 2009, Garcia co-founded Solero Flamenco, Houston's premier flamenco performance company, with singer Irma La Paloma; the two subsequently co-founded and directed the Houston Spanish and Flamenco Festival (2011-2016) with funding from Texas Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts and in collaboration with the Consulate General of Spain. As an educator, Garcia serves as the Affiliate Professor of Guitar at the University of Houston - Moores School of Music and as the Associate Artistic Director of the Houston Classical Guitar Festival and Competition. He teaches private lessons in the U. S. and abroad. As featured guitarist, he tours nationally with Solero Flamenco.
