the 22/23 version of K2's Recon 120 remains at the very front of a new wave of advanced ski boots that offer lightness, fit and performance in equal measures. Previously lighter boots could suffer a noticeable loss of control and precision, and advanced and expert boots would feel heavy. This is not the case anymore thanks to the Powerlite Shell. 4 different stiffnesses of TPU and optimal wall thickness come together to provide the lowest possible weight and the best performance. To ensure comfort, both the shell and the liner can be custom moulded to the skier's feet for the best fit. Ability Level Overview Fit Average fit around the rear foot and over the instep, medium to wide on the forefoot, round toe shape. Shell TPU Powerlite Shell, customisable. This shell is purpose-built to result in the best skiing, lightest boots produced. Made with 4 different stiffnesses of TPU and optimised wall thickness profiling, the Powerlite Shell manages to achieve a tricky balance between lightweight agility and power. The end product, some of the lightest boots on the market that ski with all the power and drive of heavier models. Rounded out with FastFit ease of entry and full TPU boot fitter customisation capabilities. Liner PrecisionFit Pro, mouldable. Pre-moulded and lasted with Ultralon heat-mouldable foam. Featuring a stiffer foam and upper, asymmetric tongue, pre-moulded ankle pockets and high-density power collar. Key Features Powerfuse Spyne A rear co-injected 'Y' shaped support that adds strength and power to the Energy Interlock in order to maximize fore/aft flex efficiency and lateral stiffness for responsiveness in every type of terrain. Energy InterlockA rivet-free technology that integrates the cuff and shell, putting less stress on the boot's material and produces a smoother, progressive flex. Fast Fit Entry Softer TPU designed into the instep area of Powerlite shell for quick and easy entry and exit. Navicular Punch A strategic bump is built into the boot mould to alleviate pressure commonly experienced during ankle flexion. Power Wedge A removable spoiler for an adjustable forward lean angle, ranging from 12deg to 14deg. Read more about Ellis Brigham
Ellis Brigham was born in 1933, the brainchild of Frederick Ellis Brigham, who set up business making cycling shoes and walking boots in a tiny 'two up, two down' building on the outskirts of Manchester.
After the war, as mountain walking and climbing became more and more popular, the shop began to sell ex-WD climbing equipment and Brigham's boots with their special nailing patterns became very sought after.
Fast forward almost 80 years and Ellis Brigham now has 24 shops across the UK and a leading website, making it the UK's premier retailer for ski hardware, mountaineering equipment and outdoor clothing.
