Written in Spanish. This volume is an analysis of the Spanish Civil war of 1936 that consequently catapulted Spain into a dictatorship under Francisco Franco. However, it is not just an analysis of the war itself, but also a discussion on how we are taught about and view the war from our position in history. We see a view coloured by stories told by grandparents and passed down through generations, by families and word of mouth, even facts told without the proper context leading to a false impartiality and biased understandings. Martin and Leon use their experience in university research and teaching to truly get to the heart of the issues of studying history, especially such a emotive and directly impactful history as the legacy of the Spanish civil war. The book itself is in great condition, there is some minor visual wear to the softcover, but the binding is tight, the pages clean, making a very good copy. ___________ Este volumen es un analisis de la Guerra Civil espanola de 1936 que, en consecuencia, catapulto a Espana a una dictadura bajo Francisco Franco. Sin embargo, no es solo un analisis de la guerra en si, sino tambien una discusion sobre como nos ensenan sobre la guerra y como la vemos desde nuestra posicion en la historia. Vemos una vision matizada por historias contadas por los abuelos y transmitidas de generacion en generacion, por familias y de boca en boca, incluso por hechos contados sin el contexto adecuado que conducen a una falsa imparcialidad y a interpretaciones sesgadas. Martin y Leon utilizan su experiencia en la investigacion y la ensenanza universitaria para llegar verdaderamente al corazon de los problemas del estudio de la historia, especialmente una historia tan emotiva y de impacto directo como el legado de la guerra civil espanola. El libro en si esta en excelentes condiciones, hay un desgaste visual menor en la tapa blanda, pero la encuadernacion esta ajustada y las paginas limpias, lo que hace una muy buena copia.
