The name Ladin (Ladin and Italian Ladinia) refers to a geographical area in the Dolomites in northern Italy. Ladin is the main settlement area of the Ladins. The term was probably coined in the 19th century to refer to the Ladin-speaking Val Badia; the section of the German and Austrian Alpine Club, founded in Corvara in 1886, bore the name Ladinia. Text in German, Italian and (presumably) Ladin.
