Langley Mill Pottery: Its History And Its Wares
Merchant: Oxfam
Merchant's Category: Media> Books
Condition: As new - excellent This book is the result of enthusiast research by the authors sparked off by the gift of a Jardiniere to display an aspidistra plant. The Jardiniere was made at Langley Mill Pottery. The research was made possible after moving to the area, early retirement and meeting other collectors and former employees. It is beautifully illustrated, showing the varied wares available during different periods of the Pottery. There are chapters on the Calvert Period, The Calvert & Lovatt Period, The Lovatt & Lovatt Period, The Oakes Period and the Denby Period. The history has an appendix covering the development of the site up to it being cleared and replaced by a retail park. There are also appendices covering the various Marks used.
