Le Troubadour Elias de Barjols: Edition Critique Publiee avec une Introduction, des Notes et un Glossaire par Stanislas Stronski French Edition 1906 Text in French The Troubadour Elias de Barjols: Critical Edition Published with an Introduction, Notes and a Glossary by Stanislas Stronski. Elias de Barjols (1191-1230) was an Aquitainian troubadour who established himself in Provence, and retired monk. Eleven of his lyrics survive, but none of his music. Stanislaw Stronski (1882 - 1955) was a Polish philologist, publicist and politician. His academic interests centered on the medieval Occitan literature, especially about the Troubadours. In this field he is reputed as one of the most important scholars of the 20th century. In fair condition. Heavy discolouration, some pages lightly marked in pencil. First two pages becoming detached. Front free endpaper is inscribed in black ink and dated 29 May 1906.
