Lucina Sine Concubitu

Merchant's Category: Media> Books
The Golden Cockerel made handmade limited editions of classic works. The type was hand-set and the books were printed on handmade paper, and sometimes on vellum. A feature of Golden Cockerel books was the original illustrations, usually wood engravings, this has three copperplate etchings by Hester Sainsbury. Very attractive little book , minimal shelve wear and slight discolouration to the endpapers. Copy 172/500. This letter was probably a hoax by Sir John Hill, played on the Royal Society in 1750.
