Lucky Peterson: Organ Soul Sessions (Soul Jazz) Brother Where Are You? Mercy The Music is the Magic Released by Universal Music France 2009 - 3xCD boxset A must-listen for anyone who likes the music of Jimmy Smith or Booker T. Jones! Lucky Peterson is a multi-talented contemporary blues artist! An intense session recorded in a short period of less than a week in early 2008. A super cool piece where you can enjoy funky organ sounds! Tower Records (2009/04/08) Lucky Peterson (born Judge Kenneth Peterson) is an American blues guitarist, organist and singer, born in Buffalo, New York, on December 13, 1964. His father, James Peterson, singer and guitarist, ran the Governor's Inn, a club blues in which he quickly had the opportunity to rub shoulders with a number of musicians such as Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Muddy Waters and Junior Wells. He began learning the organ by taking lessons with Bill Dogget and Jimmy Smith. He was only 5 years old when Willie Dixon spotted him. Later, he switched to the guitar which would become his second favorite instrument. An undeniable performer, Lucky Peterson performs concerts in front of wild crowds. In 2009, he has around ten albums to his credit, including the excellent "Double Dealin'" released in 2001 which perfectly shows the extent of his talent. His latest production Organ Soul Sessions, performed entirely on the Hammond organ, shows his renewed interest in this instrument and in jazz and blues standards. He also multiplies collaborations such as his duet with Bootsy Collins or his collaboration on the latest album of the singer Ayo, Gravity At Last. Discography * "Lucky strikes!"
