Typically a rectifier is fed AC power generated from the stator coils of the generator (alternator) and converts it to DC power whilst, at the same time, limiting the voltage to a maximum of about 14.5 volts.Signs that your regulator needs replacing:Depending on the location of the regulator rectifier, the part can easily overheat. Other causes for a dead regulator rectifier center on the battery. Ground connections are important for good voltage, and if there is a faulty voltage, the regulator rectifier can run hot. Bad grounding, corroded battery connection and poor or loose battery connections will cause faulty voltage too.MTX's range of OE replacement rectifiers are designed to directly replace faulty or broken OE componentry, with all the same connectors as your OE components, they are simply 'plug-and-play' replacements.
