Hardcover, published by Charles Scribner's Sons. Dark blue boards are in good condition, top and bottom outer corners have experienced some water damage and are somewhat worn, upper and lower edges of the spine are fraying somewhat. Back cover has some very minor staining. Internally, the paper is in good condition, all text is legible, however many of the pages' upper and lower corners have some remains of water damage and the staining it brings. There is a bookplate inside the book denoting it to have come from the library of Arthur Lewis. There is also a pencil inscription on the inner page. This book is part of a series by Imbert de Saint-Amand called "Famous Women of the French Court". This book is about Empress Marie Louise, the second wife of Napoleon Bonaparte.
