From text on dust jacket: "Tis standard textbook for engineers and metallurgists has been completely revised. A new chapter has been added on the use of titanium in aeronautical engineering and on he new metals in the field of nuclear energy." This book highlights the different ways that metals can be used and how their properties can be but to best use in different fields within engineering. As stated above, it was intended to be used as a textbook of the time. It is an interesting insight in the history of metallurgy and seeing whether methods have changed over time. This book is in very good condition. The only issue with this book is the dust jacket being only the front cover and chipped at the bottom. Shelve wear evident on the red cloth boards due to lack of half a dust jacket. Personal inscription on the fore pages but other than that rest of the pages are clean. Very sound binding.
