Merchant's Category: Media> Books
Moby Dick is an extraordinary tale predominately of the adventures of two sailors. Ishmael, a nomadic sailor and his voyage on the whaleship Pequod, a vessel captained by Ahab, a relentless, determined man fuelled by vengeance, driven by the sole aim of hunting and killing the greatest white whale that ever lived, Moby Dick. Moby Dick is considered to be one of the greatest American novels ever written, a literature classic and a masterpiece. This epic saga exhibits a well-balanced mixture of exploration, expedition, adventure, poetry and philosophy to deliver a nautical tale of drama and ultimate disaster. Author, Herman Melville (1819-1891) was an American novelist and poet of the American Renaissance period. He began written Moby Dick in 1850 and completed it 18 months later. It is hard to imagine that Moby Dick was written over 150 years ago.
